A good photographer can get the best out of any camera, at least in theory. The fact is that lately, having returned to film photography, I was having a hard time finding any stimulus in digital photography. Whenever I picked up a digital camera I was missing the manual process like loading film or focusing manually. This proved to be a problem because the lack of inspiration created a motivational defaiance from which I was struggling to get out. So I made the decision to go to my local shop to see a Fuji XT3.

I must say that my mood changed instantly as soon as I held the camera in my hand. Wow, picking up the XT3 gave me a wonderful feeling of consistency and build quality. I finally found the same characteristics of a film cameras in a digital body. Obviously I bought it with a 16/80mm f4 lens. The same day I went out to shoot and was delighted by the quality of the images. Never seen anything like this even in much more expensive DSRLs. Fuji lenses are fantastic and the photographic process appears more meditative, you have to think more about what you are doing.

There is another reason why I chose Fuji and that's the film simulation this camera has.. As you know, one of my favorite films to shoot with is black and white Fujifilm Acros 100. Well, in my XT3 there is the Acros simulation and I must say that despite my initial doubts I have found that the simulation is practically identical to the real film. A pleasant and satisfying surprise that I will use often. In the next months I will add some magic lenses to the system. I feel I am inspired again, I feel motivated to shoot more and I really can't wait to produce beautiful art for me and for my clients.
