Source Of Inspiration

by Riccardo    October 7, 2019

Sooner or later it happens to every photographer to meditate about the quality of our images. Sometimes working for our customers can lead us away from our true passions and our natural aspirations.

That's why we must, from time to time, recover the reasons that led us to choose the art of photography by looking at the work of the great masters who preceded us; Today I would like to talk about a photographer who has always inspired my work: Helmut Newton

Helmut Newton. SUMO. 20th Anniversary

Helmut Newton, June Newton

Hardcover with booklet in slipcase, 26.7 x 37.4 cm, 464 pages € 100

I recently purchased the book published by Taschen, www.taschen.com, SUMO.
The first edition weighed 35kg and was printed in 10,000 copies signed by the artist. This new version with smaller dimensions allows everyone to have a copy published by the Australian model June Newton.
This work is a collection of the most significant images of Newton's life; inside you can browse images ranging from fashion photography, nudes, but also portraits of famous people such as Elisabeth Taylor, Gianni Agnelli, Ava Gardner, Mick Jagger.
The unique, still modern style of Helmut Newton and the power of the images he created are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for my photography and I believe for every photographer who wants to produce portraits, fashion photos or boudoir.

Every time I open this book I find the true motivations that brought me closer to photography when I was a young boy. Well, I hope you appreciate this work, and I hope it will be useful for your work as photographers and for your artistic growth.
